ABOUT ANKAA

ANKAA Project is a not-for-profit organisation, founded in 2017, that works with communities affected by forced migration and/or unemployment. ANKAA’s hybrid model of a social enterprise connects its education programs, focused on social inclusion, with its revenue-generating activities of creating sustainable products under fair and ethical working conditions. 

 

ANKAA’s educational programs in sewing and Greek language are aimed at supporting students with the necessary tools to rebuild their lives in a sustainable and dignified way. In its professional tailoring lab, ANKAA manufactures customised and sustainable products with a talented team of tailors. With its holistic approach towards social inclusion ANKAA highlights the interconnection between education and employment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As the Communications and Marketing Officer, you will help shape how ANKAA communicates its mission and impact. In this role you will manage content that tells the stories behind our programmes and ethical fashion products. You will develop, create and publish multimedia content, lead on ANKAA’s marketing campaigns to increase our social business’ visibility, track social media engagement, and ensure consistent branding. This role is for a proactive and creative person who enjoys hands-on work in a dynamic social enterprise.

This role is office-based (Kipseli, Athens) and full-time (40 hours per week), starting as a short-term contract with possibility of extension

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Implement our communication strategy under the guidance of senior management;

  • Develop ANKAA’s marketing strategy in order to show our impact, strengthen sales, grow engagement and reach new clients;

  • Create, edit, and publish engaging online content and printed materials (social media, newsletters, press releases, brochures, flyers, presentations);

  • Lead storytelling efforts to highlight ANKAA’s mission, impact, and community;

  • Moderate and animate ANKAA’s digital presence (website, social media, blog);

  • Ensure consistent branding and adherence to visual identity;

  • Produce multimedia content (photos and short videos) to showcase ANKAA’s activities and events;

  • Foster engagement with supporters, donors, and students through effective communication;

  • Track and report back on communications and marketing KPIs to assess impact and guide improvements;

  • Supervise and coordinate occasional communications volunteers as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent in Greek and English;

  • Proven experience in communications and marketing, including planning and implementing multi-channel strategies;

  • Strong storytelling and copywriting skills to communicate ANKAA’s mission, impact, and community online and in-person;

  • Understanding of branding and visual identity guidelines;

  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.), Later and Canva;

  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail, while contributing collaboratively;

  • Comfortable using photography equipment;

  • Flexible, proactive and creative;

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with Wix and Adobe Creative Suite (mainly InDesign and Photoshop);

  • Experience working with vulnerable communities;

  • Sense of humour;

  • Basic video editing and graphic design skills;

  • Knowledge of Arabic, Farsi or French is appreciated.
