Strong collaborative network

ANKAA Project, a Luxembourgish and Greek non-profit organisation created in 2017, stands for equitable pathways towards education and employmentANKAA intends to strengthen the unemployed community in Athens. By providing language classes, vocational training in the field of tailoring, metal, electricity, carpentry and IT & Media, ANKAA Project supports asylum-seekers, refugees and migrants and unemployed Greeks.

Through its collaborative network of partners and supporters in the European Union, ANKAA develops stronger training programs, facilitates access to employment and integration in the labour market, allowing the participants to create tools for rebuilding their lives in a dignified, sustainable and personal way.

The project includes a positive approach towards the environment and the implementation of the principles of circular economy, by offering inter alia recycling and upcycling programs and activities. The project’s holistic approach will foster critical thinking, active participation and interactions, a sense of belonging to the European society and access to the labour market and employment opportunities.

What does "ANKAA" mean?

The Ankaa star is the brightest star in the constellation of Phoenix, a symbol of rebirth, renewal and hope.

From Arabic and Latin roots, Ankaa stands for the 'star of the skiff', guiding the way for travellers of the sea.

Together we want to light a new path for travellers fleeing war and persecution, as they continue to write their stories and build their futures.
