Visitor policy

ANKAA Project is a vocational training centre in Athens.

We are an open space, where everyone is welcome, but we also want our students to feel secure and protected. It is important to understand that we are not a space for visitors but try to provide vocational training, employment opportunities and workshops.

That is why we ask volunteers, other organisations, media representatives or researchers to make an appointment before visiting the space, as well as to ensure that a team member has time to give a tour and answer questions.

We are able to welcome visitors Monday to Fridays from 12:00 to 17:00.

Please make an appointment at least 2 days before your arrival by emailing us on

This way, we can organize our schedule and keep you updated in case ANKAA has to close for unexpected reasons.

Please let us know the reason for your visit (e.g. interest in the space, interest in volunteering, research, media coverage, etc.) and how many people you will be coming with.

If you arrive by car, please park outside in the street.

You can also take the public bus number 21 or 838 from Omonia and get out at the stop "Asty" or take number 813 and get out at "Dēmarakē".

The closest metro stations are either Kerameikos or Eleonas. From there it's approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the ANKAA Project.

Please keep in mind that we work in a multicultural environment. We kindly ask you to consider this and dress appropriately.

General rules

Please sign-in at our reception upon your arrival. An ANKAA team member will show you around. If you want to take pictures, please ask the ANKAA team member first. It is not allowed to take pictures of minors. Before taking pictures of adult students, you need to ask the person for permission and to verify with the ANKAA team member if the student has signed our consent form.

Distribution of items

We kindly ask you to not distribute any items, books, leaflets or other things without speaking to us first.

Media Representatives

The above visitor policy also applies to media representatives.

In order to inform our students as well as the team members, it would be great if you could email us ( the details of what you want to cover and what it will be used for (e.g. broadcasting, print and/or online publication).

If you are interested in conducting interviews, please let us know beforehand with whom you would like to talk so we have time to arrange it. It is not allowed to take pictures of minors. If you want to take pictures of adult students, you have to ask the student and an ANKAA team member so we can make sure that our consent form has been signed by the person.

Research requests

The above visitor policy also applies to research requests. If you are conducting research and are interested in visiting ANKAA please send an email with the following information to

  • the topic, frame and purpose of your research (e.g. academic research, research for NGO)

  • the questionnaire (if available)

  • Are you looking for interview partners? (if yes, please specify)

Please be aware that we can only accept very specific research requests. Let us know, if you want to conduct interviews with our volunteers and students, and we will try to arrange something (if possible).
